Aon has appointed Godelieve van Dooren as its new Chief Executive for Southeast Asia, bringing more than 15 years of regional experience to the leadership role as the professional services firm continues to strengthen its presence across key markets.
Van Dooren joins Aon from Marsh McLennan, where she served as Chief Executive for Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore for more than 15 years, she has developed extensive experience across major Southeast Asian markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
Before becoming Southeast Asia CEO at Marsh McLennan, van Dooren served as Chief Executive of Mercer’s South East Asia Growth Markets and Career Business Leader for Asia. At Mercer, she led growth initiatives while working with organisations on increasingly complex workforce challenges spanning health, wealth and careers.
Her career in professional services began after completing a Master of Arts in Law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Thereafter, she pursued a career in HR consulting and professional services, including an early role as a senior HR consultant at Ernst & Young.
Van Dooren also brings a strong focus on leadership, inclusion and organisational change. Speaking at Reuters NEXT Asia 2026, she highlighted the importance of helping organisations navigate uncertainty by developing different scenarios, recognising connections and creating greater clarity for employees during periods of change.
She has also advocated for more intentional leadership and inclusive workplace cultures, with a particular focus on practical approaches to diversity, equity and inclusion. Her work has included discussions around the mental load associated with unpaid care responsibilities and the importance of making inclusion part of everyday business decisions.
The appointment follows a series of leadership changes at Aon across Southeast Asia. Earlier this month, Aon appointed Stephen as CEO for Indonesia, effective August 3, 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Based in Jakarta, Stephen will lead Aon's Indonesia business across Commercial Risk, Health, Talent and Wealth. He will be responsible for setting and executing Aon's strategy in Indonesia, overseeing client service delivery and building a strong, high-performing culture across the business.
Stephen will report to Jane Drummond, Chief Commercial Officer for Asia Pacific and interim head of Southeast Asia, and will join Aon's Southeast Asia leadership team.
Van Dooren's appointment now places an experienced regional executive at the helm of Aon's Southeast Asian operations, as businesses across the region navigate economic uncertainty, changing workforce expectations and continued transformation.
Her experience across human capital, consulting and professional services gives her a broad understanding of the workforce and business challenges facing organisations in the region. At Aon, she is expected to draw on that experience as the company works with clients across Southeast Asia on risk, people and organisational priorities.
