Bank of Singapore appoints Collins Chin as Global Chief Financial Officer

Bank of Singapore has announced the appointment of Collins Chin as Global Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

Chin will also join the Bank’s Global Management Committee and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Jason Moo.

In his new role, Chin brings over a wealth of industry leadership experience, and prior to this, he served as Head of Investor Relations at Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC), a Singapore Stock Exchange-listed financial services company. Bank of Singapore is a wholly-owned subsidiary of OCBC.

Chin joined OCBC in July 2009 as Head of Group Financial and Management Reporting, and became Head of Investor Relations in May 2013. During his tenure, he led engagement with the investment community, effectively communicated OCBC’s strategic priorities, and oversaw investor relations for capital raising and merger and acquisition initiatives.

Before joining OCBC, Chin held senior regional positions at Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered Bank and Barclays Capital, covering finance, capital markets and risk functions.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO Moo said, “We are delighted to welcome Collins to Bank of Singapore’s senior management team. His appointment reflects OCBC Group’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and offering career progression and mobility across the Group. Collins is a highly regarded leader with a forward-looking and innovative mindset. His extensive experience, combined with strong people management skills, positions him well to steer Bank of Singapore as we pursue our ambitious goals.”

On the academic front, Chin holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Nanyang Technological University and is a Chartered Accountant of Australia and New Zealand.

Chin succeeds Soo Woon Ho, who stepped down from the role in March last year.
