bolttech appoints Emma Butler as APAC CEO in leadership reshuffle

Global insurance technology firm bolttech has appointed Emma Butler as CEO for Asia-Pacific, as the company reshapes its regional and North American leadership to support its next phase of expansion.

Butler will join the bolttech Group Executive Committee with immediate effect, succeeding Philip Weiner, who will move to the role of CEO for North America.

Jon Walheim, who previously held the North America CEO position, is stepping down from the role and will remain as an advisor to the Group CEO during the transition.

Butler brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance, banking and retail in Asia and Europe. Before taking the APAC CEO role, she served as regional general manager overseeing Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. She joined AmTrust Mobile Solutions Asia in 2015, before the business was acquired by bolttech.

Her experience across multiple Southeast Asian markets gives her a regional operating background as bolttech continues to expand its insurance technology business across APAC.

Weiner, a founding member of bolttech’s executive team, will take charge of the company’s North American operations.

An actuary by training, he has more than two decades of experience spanning insurance, technology and data. During his tenure at bolttech, he has held roles including Group Chief Data Officer and Chief Commercial Officer for Asia and Europe.

He previously held senior leadership positions at FWD Insurance and Manulife.

The appointments mark a shift in leadership across two key markets as bolttech looks to build on its insurance technology platform and support growth across its global operations.
