Flipkart has appointed Jane Duke as Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for the Flipkart Group, adding a senior compliance leader as the e-commerce major looks to strengthen governance alongside its expanding operations.
In the newly created role, Duke will oversee the group’s ethics and compliance framework and work closely with Flipkart’s leadership team, the company said. The appointment comes as large digital platforms face growing regulatory and public scrutiny over governance, transparency and risk management.
Duke brings close to three decades of experience across enforcement, corporate compliance and legal leadership. She joins Flipkart from Tyson Foods, where she served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel, having earlier held the role of Chief Compliance Officer. At Tyson, she handled regulatory compliance, government investigations, litigation and enterprise risk management.
Earlier in her career, Duke spent more than ten years with the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas, including a stint as US Attorney between 2007 and 2011, giving her direct experience of public-sector enforcement and oversight.
Flipkart Group Chief Executive Kalyan Krishnamurthy said Duke’s appointment reflected the company’s emphasis on building strong institutional foundations as it scales. He said her background in ethics, compliance and governance would support Flipkart’s long-term growth and reinforce its focus on transparency and integrity.
Duke said she was joining Flipkart at an important phase of its journey and would work with the leadership team to strengthen compliance systems that are transparent, scalable and technology-enabled, in line with the group’s evolving responsibilities as a large digital commerce player.
Founded in 2007, Flipkart Group operates several consumer-facing businesses including Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Cleartrip and super.money. With hundreds of millions of registered users and over a million sellers on its platforms, the group has become a central part of India’s digital commerce ecosystem. Duke’s appointment signals a sharper focus on governance as the company prepares for its next stage of growth.
