Stryker has named Laura Emery as Director, Talent Development – Asia Pacific, expanding her remit to include leadership capability building, learning frameworks, and workforce development across one of the company’s fastest-growing global markets.
Emery, who joined Stryker close to a decade ago, has held several key HR roles within the company, including Senior HR Business Partner and Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner. In these positions, she played a central role in strengthening talent pipelines, aligning people strategy with business goals, and advancing workforce engagement across regional teams.
Before her current appointment, Emery was Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Stryker, where she supported leaders in driving HR excellence, performance management, and organisational development. She began her journey with the company as an HR Analyst, building her early expertise in analytics, HR systems, and process optimisation.
Commenting on the new role, Emery shared that her focus will be on deepening leadership capabilities and building a learning culture that supports sustainable business growth. Her approach is shaped by over 15 years of HR experience across talent acquisition, capability building, and behavioural assessments.
Emery holds a Master of Human Resources Management from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
