Schindler Holding has appointed Dr. André Becker as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective January 1, 2027.
“As of January 1, 2027, Dr. André Becker will join Schindler as Chief Human Resources and become a member of the Group Executive Committee,” the company said in announcing the appointment.
Becker joins Schindler with international experience across human resources, organisational transformation and business leadership. He most recently served as CHRO and Executive Board Member at Lidl International, where he was responsible for the company’s international HR agenda.
Before joining Lidl, Becker spent more than two decades at BASF, holding a range of senior leadership roles including President of HR across diverse markets.
His career has also included business and finance responsibilities. He also served as President for Functional Divisions and Country Platforms North America and CFO of BASF Corporation.
Becker’s appointment follows a period of interim HR leadership at Schindler. Hugo Martinho, who had been responsible for Human Resources, stepped down from the Group Executive Committee in November 2025. Schindler CEO Paolo Compagna subsequently assumed responsibility for HR on an interim basis from December 2025.
According to the company statement, from January 2027, the Group Executive Committee will comprise CEO Paolo Compagna; CFO and Deputy CEO Carla De Geyseleer; CIO Matteo Attrovio; CHR André Becker; Europe South head Danilo Calabrò; CTO Donato Carparelli; Asia Pacific head Nitin Chalke; Europe North head Patrick Hess; Americas and Escalators head Vikén Martarian; and China head Meinolf Pohle.
