From international government leaders to technology experts, regulators and entrepreneurs, various stakeholders will focus on the changing face of entrepreneurship and nature of fintech businesses at the 2018 Singapore FinTech Festival between November 12 to 16.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore is organizing the FinTech Festival along with the Association of Banks in Singapore at the Singapore Expo. With more than 250 speakers, 450 exhibitors and 16 international pavilions, this fintech festival is set out to attract more than 40,000 participants.
Over a total of 70 sessions, the conference will tackle themes including AI in finance, opportunities for FinTech in ASEAN countries, cybersecurity, regulation of tech, financial inclusion and even future of banking and money.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund will be among the more than 250 speakers who will address the audience at the festival.
Delegates and attendees can participate in the Innovation Lab Crawl where they can visit about 30 labs in the country. Networking with startups and the leaders who drive innovations in these labs is a major pull for this crawl.
The festival is designed to connect entrepreneurs with investors which is also a part of the Global Investor Summit that displays next-gen ASEAN startups not only in the FinTech sector but beyond. Interested entrepreneurs and small business owners can explore capital-raising strategies and learn how to invest in a concept to get the maximum impact.
Apart from the FinTech Awards that will recognize financial institutions and tech companies that have implemented innovative FinTech solutions in the region, the Global FinTech Hackcelerator Demo Day showcased about 20 market-ready solutions that can be applied to real-life industries spanning financial inclusion, insurance tech etc.
“The Singapore FinTech Festival is now a global knowledge platform extending beyond FinTech to include topics such as LP investing, venture capital and capital raising strategies,” said Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech officer, Monetary Authority of Singapore.
This year, it has expanded to attract a more diverse crowd of international regulators, policymakers, industry leaders and academics from FinTech and beyond. “Going forward, the festival will continue to champion financial inclusion through innovation and digital transformation to achieve a more global and all-embracing FinTech ecosystem,” added Mohanty.
