The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has appointed Keith Magnus, Chairman and CEO of Evercore Asia and chairman of The Kallang, to its board, effective August 1.
The Ministry of Law announced the appointment on July 27, with Magnus succeeding DBS banker Lim Soon Chong, whose current term ends on July 31.
Magnus brings more than 25 years of investment banking experience to the SLA board, including 22 years leading Evercore Asia’s Singapore office.
During his career, he has advised on transactions worth close to S$500 billion and received more than 30 industry awards, including recognition as a leading mergers and acquisitions adviser in Asia and Singapore.
Beyond investment banking, Magnus has held several leadership roles across Singapore’s public and community sectors. He is the founding chairman of The Kallang Group, which owns and manages the Kallang precinct, and is involved in its development into an integrated destination operating around the clock.
Under his leadership, the precinct has hosted major international events and performances, including Taylor Swift’s concerts and the PGL Championships esports tournament.
Magnus also chairs the Families for Life Council under the Ministry of Social and Family Development and serves as deputy chairman of Sport Singapore. He is a board member of the Anglo-Chinese Schools Foundation and previously served as a director of Sentosa Development Corporation, where he chaired its Finance and Investments Committee.
Meanwhile, Kenny Tan, Deputy Secretary for Workforce at the Ministry of Manpower, and Koh Swee Yen, head of international arbitration at WongPartnership, will each be reappointed to the SLA board for another two-year term.
There will be no other changes to the authority’s board.
Magnus’ appointment adds investment banking and major precinct development experience to the SLA board as the authority continues to oversee Singapore’s state land and property assets and support the country’s land-use planning and development objectives.
