Bitly has appointed Matt Young as Chief Technology Officer, marking another leadership move under CEO Peter Krivkovich as the company continues to strengthen its executive team and accelerate platform innovation.

The global link and QR code management platform said the appointment is part of a broader leadership build-out since Krivkovich took over as CEO in 2025, with a focus on scaling the company’s technology, operations, and global growth strategy.

Krivkovich said continued investment in the platform is critical as demand for reliable and scalable link management grows. He noted that while artificial intelligence is accelerating software development, companies that can scale reliably will have the strongest competitive advantage. He added that Young’s experience in building engineering organisations would support the company’s next phase of platform and business growth.

Before becoming CEO, Krivkovich served as Bitly’s Chief Financial Officer, where he helped scale the business and build its operational foundation. Prior to joining Bitly, he was co-founder and CEO of NextRoll, where he helped build the company into a global performance marketing platform.

As CTO, Young will lead Bitly’s engineering and data organisations, overseeing the company’s technical strategy, platform scalability, and technology innovation. He brings more than 20 years of experience leading engineering and product teams through modernisation, cloud transformation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI.

Before joining Bitly, Young served as CEO of UserVoice and previously held the role of Chief Technology Officer at Vodori.

Alongside the CTO appointment, Bitly also announced several leadership promotions over the past year as part of its broader investment in customer and employee experience.

Kelly Zitzmann has been promoted to Chief Legal & Administrative Officer, overseeing Legal, People, and IT teams as well as global compliance and platform safety.

Luke Reynebeau has been promoted to Vice President of Product Marketing, leading product marketing strategy and customer engagement initiatives, while Shannon Jankun has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources, overseeing talent management, employee relations, and organisational development.

The company said the leadership appointments and promotions reflect its continued focus on building the executive team needed to support platform expansion and serve its growing global customer base.
