Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) has appointed Quy Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately, following a succession process that began after the retirement of former CEO Niclas Sanfridsson.

Nguyen had served as acting CEO since April 2026 and will now lead the data centre services provider through its next phase of global growth.

The company said the appointment reflects the board’s confidence in Nguyen’s leadership and strategic vision as demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow, driven by cloud adoption and the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence workloads.

Nguyen joined Colt DCS in 2016 and has held several senior leadership roles across sales and marketing, customer experience, design and delivery. Most recently, he served as Chief Sales Officer, where he focused on strengthening the company’s commercial strategy and customer relationships.

Before joining Colt DCS, Nguyen held senior positions spanning finance, strategy and general management, giving him experience in business scaling and sustainable growth.

In his new role, Nguyen will focus on expanding Colt DCS’s global platform and supporting customers as their digital infrastructure requirements evolve.

Colt DCS currently has nearly 800MW of capacity under development across key global markets, positioning the company to respond to growing demand for infrastructure supporting cloud computing and AI workloads across Europe and Asia.

Colt DCS chairman Tim Cohen said, "Quy has demonstrated exceptional leadership during a period of significant growth and transformation for Colt DCS. His deep understanding of our customers, our people, and our business, combined with his strategic vision and proven track record of execution, made him the outstanding choice to lead the company. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate globally, we are confident that Quy will build upon our strong foundations and position Colt DCS for continued long-term success."

Nguyen added, "I am honoured to be appointed CEO of Colt DCS at such an exciting time for our company and industry. We have built a strong track record for delivering world-class digital infrastructure, fostering trusted customer relationships, and executing ambitious growth plans across key markets.

As demand for sustainable cloud and AI infrastructure continues to accelerate, we are uniquely positioned to support our customers' evolving needs through continued investment, operational excellence, and innovation. I look forward to working alongside our talented teams around the world to build on our strong foundations, expand our global platform, and deliver long-term value for our customers, partners, and stakeholders."

The leadership transition comes at a time when data centre operators are facing rapidly rising demand for capacity, particularly as organisations scale AI and cloud-based workloads and seek infrastructure that can support these technologies sustainably.

Last month, Colt DCS appointed David Burton as Chief Information Officer (CIO), further strengthening its senior leadership team as the company scales its global digital infrastructure platform.
