Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) has appointed Quy Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as the data centre operator prepares for its next phase of global expansion amid rising demand for cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Nguyen had been serving as Acting CEO since April 2026, following the retirement of former chief executive Niclas Sanfridsson. Following a succession process, the company’s Board of Directors appointed Nguyen to the permanent role, citing his leadership experience and understanding of the business.

Nguyen joined Colt DCS in 2016 and has held senior positions spanning sales and marketing, customer experience, design and delivery. Most recently, he served as Chief Sales Officer, where he was responsible for strengthening the company’s commercial strategy and customer relationships.

Before joining Colt DCS, Nguyen held senior leadership roles across finance, strategy and general management, giving him experience in business scaling and growth.

As CEO, Nguyen will focus on expanding Colt DCS’s global platform and meeting customers’ growing digital infrastructure requirements. The company currently has nearly 800MW of capacity under development across key global markets.

Colt DCS said its expansion is being supported by increasing cloud adoption and the rapid growth of AI workloads across Europe and Asia, which are driving demand for additional data centre capacity.

Tim Cohen, Chairman of Colt DCS, said Nguyen’s leadership during a period of significant growth and transformation, alongside his understanding of customers, employees and the business, made him the preferred candidate for the role.

Nguyen said he was honoured to take on the CEO position at a time when demand for sustainable cloud and AI infrastructure is accelerating. He said the company would continue to invest in its global platform, operational capabilities and innovation while strengthening relationships with customers and partners.

The leadership change comes as data centre operators face growing pressure to expand capacity while addressing the infrastructure demands associated with AI, cloud computing and the transition towards more sustainable digital infrastructure.
