Etiqa Insurance Singapore has appointed Claudia Soh as its Chief Executive Officer, effective August 14, 2026, formalising a leadership transition that comes as the insurer seeks to expand its growth strategy, strengthen partnerships and accelerate innovation.

Soh had been serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer for the past six months while continuing her responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer. During that period, she led the company through several transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence, customer experience and business growth.

The appointment signals the board's confidence in Soh's leadership as the company enters what it described as its next phase of development.

With more than two decades of experience in financial services and insurance, Soh brings expertise in finance, risk management, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations and auditing. Her professional background includes experience at the Monetary Authority of Singapore as well as senior leadership positions within the insurance sector.

During her time at Etiqa, she has played a key role in advancing the company's growth agenda while supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening organisational capabilities. She has also championed efforts to reposition the finance function as a strategic partner that contributes to stronger business outcomes for customers, employees and other stakeholders.

Kamaludin, Group Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, said Soh had demonstrated strong leadership, operational excellence and resilience during her tenure as acting CEO.

He added that her ability to drive innovation, build teams and respond to changing customer expectations would further strengthen the company's position in Singapore.

Commenting on her appointment, Soh said the insurance industry was undergoing significant change and that customer expectations continued to evolve.

She said the company would focus on combining digital innovation, data-driven insights and strategic partnerships to improve customer experiences while helping individuals and businesses strengthen their financial resilience.

Looking ahead, Etiqa said it would continue expanding its distribution network and strengthening ecosystem partnerships to improve access to protection products.

The insurer also plans to deepen its collaboration with Maybank through its longstanding bancassurance partnership to provide more integrated financial and protection solutions. At the same time, the company intends to work with a broader network of partners across Singapore to develop products that address changing customer needs in protection, savings and financial wellness.
