Great Giant Foods has appointed Fhardiyan Putra as Head of HR People Development, effective immediately, as the company strengthens its people development and learning capabilities across its diversified business operations.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Putra said, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of HR People Development at Great Giant Foods!”

In his new role, Putra will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive people development strategy aligned with Great Giant Foods’ long-term business objectives across plantations, factories, and consumer goods operations.

His responsibilities will include building an integrated learning and development ecosystem, introducing specialised operational training modules, and driving leadership development programmes aimed at strengthening the organisation’s future leadership pipeline.

He will also oversee the design and implementation of transformative learning strategies including technical training initiatives covering areas such as climate mitigation for plantations, pest control, AI-driven factory digitalisation, and operational responses to climate anomalies including El Niño-related challenges.

As part of his leadership mandate, Putra will scale several executive and high-potential talent programmes, and spearhead digital transformation initiatives within learning and development by introducing modern technologies and scalable learning platforms across the business.

Putra will work closely with the HRGA Director and the Board of Directors to identify capability gaps and implement strategic workforce development solutions that support business growth and operational performance.

Before joining Great Giant Foods, Putra spent nearly five years with Astra Life as Head of Human Capital Corporate Learning, where he managed corporate learning and leadership development initiatives across the organisation.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership and training roles at Suzuki Indonesia and AIA, specialising in leadership development and corporate training.
