LVMH has appointed Laura Parkes as Chief People Officer for Southeast Asia and Oceania, bringing a senior talent and organisational development leader into a regional role as the luxury group continues to expand its presence across the region.

In her new role, Parkes will lead the group’s regional people strategy and support the growth of its luxury fashion Maisons, including CELINE, Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe and Fendi.

Parkes joins the regional leadership role after more than five years at Louis Vuitton, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President, Talent and Development. She led the Maison’s global talent agenda across central functions, industrial operations and retail teams spanning more than 60 markets.

Her responsibilities at Louis Vuitton included succession and development planning, global talent acquisition, early-career talent management, development programmes, executive recruitment, and executive coaching and development.

She previously served as Vice President, Global Talent and Development at Louis Vuitton, having joined the Maison in 2021.

Parkes brings experience across luxury, consumer, retail, manufacturing and technology-related businesses. Before Louis Vuitton, she was Vice President, People and Culture at Philip Morris International, where she supported senior leadership teams through organisational design and business transformation.

At Philip Morris International, Parkes worked with the company’s digital and technology, communications, external affairs and legal organisations, with a focus on building talent and capabilities as the business moved through a broader operating-model transformation.

Earlier in her career, she spent four years at Gap as Vice President, Human Resources, partnering with the company’s global supply chain and strategic sourcing functions. She led a global team of HR and communications professionals and supported organisational redesign, geographic expansion, leadership capability building and cultural change across sourcing and product development operations.

Parkes also held senior talent and HR roles at Avery Dennison, where she built global and Asia-Pacific talent acquisition capabilities, and at Verizon Business, where she developed a specialised Asia-Pacific talent acquisition function covering markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, India and the Philippines.

Her experience in the region stretches back to her earlier career in Asia-Pacific, giving her experience across workforce planning, talent acquisition, organisational design and leadership development in multiple markets.

Parkes’ appointment also comes as talent mobility and skills development remain important priorities within LVMH.
