Dan Mountstephen brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the technology sector, with a track record of building and scaling high-growth businesses globally.

Okta, the leading independent identity provider, has appointed Dan Mountstephen as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), as the company accelerates its next phase of growth across the region.

Based in Singapore, Mountstephen will be responsible for setting Okta’s regional strategy, scaling go-to-market execution, and driving partner-led growth to deepen engagement with large enterprises and public sector organisations across APJ. His appointment comes at a time when identity has become central to cybersecurity, digital transformation, and the safe adoption of AI.

In his new role, Mountstephen will also focus on strengthening Okta’s leadership as organisations across APJ contend with an increasingly complex threat environment, where securing every identity, human and non-human, has become critical to trust and resilience.

Jon Addison, Chief Revenue Officer at Okta, commented, “We are pleased to welcome Dan to Okta as we enter our next phase of growth in Asia Pacific and Japan. With his strong focus on go-to-market execution and partner-led scale, Dan is well positioned to expand Okta’s footprint across APJ as we work towards becoming the number one identity layer for the region’s largest organisations. His leadership will be critical as customers look to secure every identity at this pivotal moment.”

Mountstephen said he is joining Okta at a defining point for the identity market. “I’m excited to join Okta at a time when identity has become the control plane for security, digital transformation and the AI era,” he said.

Emphasising his partner-first approach, he added, “Partners have a choice, and earning that choice every day is a priority for me. By partnering strategically as a force multiplier, we can unlock growth levers that accelerate value far beyond what any of us could achieve alone.”

A veteran of the technology and cybersecurity sectors, Mountstephen brings more than two decades of leadership experience. He has previously held senior roles at Saviynt, Cisco Systems, Motorola and Siemens, building and scaling high-growth businesses across global markets.
