Sabre elevates Dave Medrano to Chief People Officer

Dave Medrano will oversee culture, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, total rewards, real estate, facilities, and workforce strategy at Sabre.
Global travel technology company Sabre Corporation has promoted Dave Medrano to the role of Chief People Officer, effective March 2026, reinforcing the company’s focus on strengthening its global workforce strategy.
Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Medrano said he was “incredibly grateful” to step into the leadership role and acknowledged the responsibility that comes with shaping the company’s people agenda.
“I am incredibly grateful to step into the role of Chief People Officer at Sabre,” Medrano wrote. “Taking on this leadership position comes with a deep sense of responsibility. Our people are the heart of everything we do, and my focus is on supporting our team through every season, including the challenging ones.”
He added that he is committed to leading with “transparency, empathy and energy” as the company navigates its next phase of growth. “To my colleagues past and present: thank you for your partnership and for everything you've taught me,” he said.
In his role, Medrano will lead Sabre’s global people strategy, focusing on building high-performing and inclusive teams that support innovation and long-term business growth. His responsibilities include overseeing company culture, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, total rewards, real estate and facilities, and workforce strategy.
Medrano brings extensive experience in human resources and organizational transformation across the technology and gaming sectors. Prior to joining Sabre, he served as Senior Vice President of People Capability at Light & Wonder, where he led the global people agenda for the company’s largest gaming division and played a key role in studio expansion and the strategic acquisition of Grover Charitable Gaming.
Earlier in his career, Medrano joined Ericsson in 2018 to lead the carve-out of its Global Media Solutions business. The move eventually resulted in a majority stake sale to One Equity Partners and the creation of MediaKind. Initially appointed Chief People Officer at MediaKind, Medrano later took on the role of Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing IT, legal and compliance functions alongside human resources and facilities.
His career also includes senior leadership roles at Scientific Games, Samsung, LeEco and Hewlett-Packard, where he worked on major corporate transformations and organizational integrations across global markets.
On the academic front, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University–Hawaii and earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School and Marriott School of Business.
