Sandoz Group has appointed Christine Chong as Country Head for Malaysia & Singapore, effective immediately, strengthening its leadership presence in the Southeast Asian market.

Chong joins Sandoz from Sanofi, where she served as Pharma Country Head for Malaysia & Singapore for over two years and held multiple leadership roles during her nearly decade-long tenure.

Announcing her new role on LinkedIn, she expressed enthusiasm about leading the business and collaborating with local teams. "Excited to share that today is my Day 1 as Country Head Malaysia & Singapore at Sandoz! Look forward to meeting and collaborating with the team. Thank you Boon Huey Ee for this opportunity," she posted.

With more than 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Chong has previously held senior positions at Roche and Merck, focusing on commercial strategy and business leadership.

On the academic front, she holds a Master’s degree in Operational Research and Management Science from University of Warwick, a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Nottingham, and has completed a digital leadership programme at HEC Paris.

Chong succeeds Carlos Patarrana, who stepped down in October 2025 after more than six years with Sandoz. Reflecting on his tenure, Patarrana described his time at the company as a period defined by “people, purpose, and growth.” He has since joined Abbott as EPD Non-Retail Business Unit and Market Access Director.
