Seek strengthens Singapore presence with Esther Lee as new Jobstreet managing director

Esther Lee steps into the top role at Jobstreet Singapore as Seek doubles down on digital hiring and AI-driven talent matching across Asia.
Seek has stepped up its expansion efforts in Singapore with the appointment of Esther Lee as the new managing director for its subsidiary Jobstreet, signalling a renewed push to grow its presence in one of the region’s most competitive employment markets.
Lee takes on the role after serving as Seek’s Head of APAC Commercial Growth, where she led the development of SmartHire, a pay-per-hire model that has since been introduced in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Her promotion reflects Seek’s broader strategy to blend advanced AI-driven hiring tools with the deep local insights that Jobstreet has built over decades.
With Jobstreet operating as one of Asia’s largest employment marketplaces alongside its sister platform JobsDB, Lee will focus on shaping the next phase of the company’s growth. This includes strengthening its matching technology, supporting employers with more efficient hiring decisions, and offering jobseekers clearer pathways to meaningful career opportunities.
Lee, who joined Seek in 2014, has worked across Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Melbourne in roles spanning strategy, operations, commercial transformation, and product incubation. She previously served as Acting Managing Director of Jobstreet Indonesia, where she delivered significant performance improvements during a period of rapid market change.
Speaking about her new position, Lee said Singapore’s role as a major business hub gives Jobstreet “immense opportunities” to better serve both employers and candidates. Her goal, she added, is to connect organisations with the talent they need while helping professionals find career paths that align with their goals.
Jobstreet has been active in Singapore since 1999 and now operates on Seek’s AI-enabled digital infrastructure. With Seek’s regional footprint extending across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, the group remains focused on scaling technology that supports long-term workforce development and more efficient hiring across the region.
