Tanium has reappointed co-founder and Executive Chairman Orion Hindawi as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Hindawi succeeds Dan Streetman, who is stepping down as CEO and from Tanium’s Board after three years in the role. Streetman will continue to advise the company during the transition, while co-founder David Hindawi will return as Chairman of the Board.

The leadership change comes as Tanium focuses on expanding AI across its portfolio, strengthening its Autonomous IT capabilities and deepening engagement with customers and partners.

Orion Hindawi co-founded Tanium with David Hindawi in 2007 to provide organisations with unified visibility and control over enterprise endpoints. He previously served as CEO from 2016 to 2023, overseeing the company’s growth and helping build the technical architecture underpinning its enterprise security platform.

The platform is used by Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, defence agencies and healthcare organisations worldwide.

“Tanium has built something genuinely rare – a platform trusted by the world's most demanding organisations, with the technical depth to lead the next generation of enterprise IT,” Hindawi said.

He highlighted the growing importance of AI as cyber threats become more sophisticated and organisations face a faster pace of technological change. Hindawi also pointed to Atlas, Tanium’s autonomous operating system, as an example of how the company has already integrated AI into its development and operations.

“As we push further, I look forward to working closely with the talented Tanium management team to capture the meaningful opportunities ahead by delivering more value for our customers and partners,” he said.

Hindawi also thanked Streetman for his leadership, saying his tenure strengthened the company and created a foundation for its next phase of growth.

Streetman said he was proud of the progress made during his three years as CEO, including strengthening operational discipline and supporting Tanium’s customers.

“It’s been a privilege to serve as CEO over the past three years and I’m proud of all we achieved,” Streetman said.

The transition marks a return to operational leadership for Tanium’s co-founder as the company positions AI and Autonomous IT at the centre of its next stage of growth.
