Vayavya Labs appoints Akio Okamura as Head of Japan Business

Akio Okamura brings decades of leadership experience to strengthen Vayavya's local collaborations and accelerate the adoption of virtual ECU and automotive simulation technologies.
India’s engineering solutions company Vayavya Labs has announced the appointment of Akio Okamura as Head of Japan Business, as part of its strategic effort to expand operations and strengthen its presence in the Japanese automotive market.
As the global automotive industry accelerates toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs), Vayavya’s virtual ECU platforms and advanced simulation capabilities are set to play a pivotal role in enabling early software development and validation before hardware readiness, a critical step for Japan’s innovation-driven automotive ecosystem.
Okamura brings nearly four decades of leadership experience in the automotive industry, as he held senior leadership positions at Nissan Motors, A.T. Kearney, Roland Berger, Ricardo Japan, Accenture, and Star. His deep expertise across R&D, consulting, and business leadership will be instrumental in strengthening Vayavya’s partnerships with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in Japan.
Under his leadership, Vayavya will deepen local collaborations and accelerate the adoption of virtual ECU and automotive simulation technologies. The company also plans to enhance its engagement with global semiconductor manufacturers, leveraging its automation and system-level design capabilities to support the development of next-generation intelligent and autonomous vehicles.
