Global critical digital infrastructure company Vertiv has announced the appointment of Nico Echavarria as director, sales management and country head for the Philippines, underscoring its strategic focus on one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital markets.

Echavarria will be responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Vertiv’s regional and global priorities, as the company strengthens its foothold in a market witnessing rapid digitalisation and rising demand for resilient infrastructure.

The appointment comes at a time when the Philippines is experiencing significant growth across sectors reliant on robust digital ecosystems, including business process outsourcing (BPO), banking and financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, government, and enterprise. Vertiv aims to deepen its engagement with customers and partners across these industries, particularly as artificial intelligence and increasing compute demands reshape infrastructure needs.

Echavarria brings extensive experience in energy management and infrastructure solutions, with a track record of supporting organisations in designing and operating scalable, reliable, and sustainable mission-critical environments. Prior to joining Vertiv, he held leadership roles at Schneider Electric Philippines and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he worked closely with customers in energy-intensive sectors to address challenges around power availability, efficiency, and long-term infrastructure planning.

Commenting on the appointment, Jordan Koh, Senior Director, Enterprise Sales, Eemerging Markets at Vertiv Asia, said, “Nico brings a strong understanding of the Philippine market and the critical role that infrastructure plays in enabling economic growth and digital services. His industry experience and customer-centric approach will further strengthen Vertiv’s ability to support organisations operating in highly demanding environments, where reliability, efficiency, and continuity are non-negotiable.”

Echavarria echoed the company’s ambitions in the region, stating, “The Philippines is seeing strong growth in sectors that rely heavily on always-on digital and physical infrastructure. Vertiv is uniquely positioned to support these customers with its deep industry expertise and end-to-end critical power and thermal management portfolios. I look forward to working closely with customers and partners to help them build resilient, future-ready environments that support their operations and the communities they serve.”
