UMSL partners with Simplilearn to expand noncredit workforce training programs

Leaders from both UMSL and Simplilearn said the collaboration is expected to help strengthen regional talent pipelines while providing additional upskilling opportunities for professionals.
The University of Missouri–St. Louis Advanced Workforce Center (AWC) has entered into a partnership with Simplilearn to expand its noncredit workforce development offerings, introducing new career-focused learning pathways aimed at working professionals and employer partners.
As part of the collaboration, the University plans to roll out programs in artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing, project management, Lean Six Sigma, and IT service management.
The courses will include advanced tracks such as AI engineering, data science, cybersecurity analysis, cloud engineering, PMP and Agile project management, Six Sigma certification, and ITIL 4 Foundation.
University officials said the initiative is intended to address evolving workforce needs in the St. Louis region and support skills development in high-growth fields. Reggie Hill, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment and Career Advancement at UMSL said, "By combining Simplilearn's global expertise with our local employer partnerships and academic strength, we are creating pathways that accelerate talent development and directly support economic growth. The Advanced Workforce Center (AWC) is positioned to play a major role in preparing the workforce of Tomorrow."
The new programs will be delivered through flexible learning formats, combining virtual instruction and applied projects.
The partnership builds on the AWC’s existing portfolio, which includes micro-credentials, professional development workshops, customized employer training, and short-term learning pathways for working adults.

The programs will be offered through UMSL’s Advanced Workforce Center as part of its ongoing efforts to support workforce readiness and career advancement.
