It's a candidate's market in Singapore now, with job vacancies increasing quarter on quarter and skill profiles changing in multiple sectors alongside the adoption of AI. In certain industries, fresh graduates may want to look at positions in SMEs rather than the large corporates. Specifically, SMEs in consulting and strategy, hospitality and tourism, trades and services, and insurance and superannuation are currently paying more than large corporations on average.

Which roles might be easier to get into

The highest-paying jobs are always going to have the highest competition, and it may be more practical to look for jobs that are more abundant. Based on job ad volume in the last few months, these are the industries with the highest demand for talent: sales, accounting, ICT, engineering, and administration and office support. Sales and accounting in particular are not only hiring, but paying well.
