The new platform aims to foster diversity and streamline the hiring process for job seekers worldwide.

Sony Music Entertainment opened its new careers hub last week, aiming to attract diverse talent from around the world. The platform is designed to streamline the hiring process and help job applicants familiarize themselves with Sony’s culture, values, and expectations.

In a LinkedIn post, Andrew Davis, executive vice president and global chief people officer at Sony Music, said the platform would help the multinational music giant ‘tap into a global network of talent that we haven’t before’ and aligns with Sony’s commitment towards ‘putting our people and their experiences first.’

“We’ve outlined what the hiring process looks like, to ensure candidates are clear on what they can expect after applying,” Davis wrote. He noted that the hub is part of Sony Music’s ongoing efforts to create an inclusive and transparent hiring process.

“[We] welcome diverse perspectives and skillsets that elevate our collective excellence,’ Davis stated.

While many businesses operating in the U.S. have scaled back their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts in response to political pressure, Sony Music maintains its ‘responsibility to move music forward in creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization, industry and society,’ according to its website.

The announcement follows a series of updates to Sony's long-term people strategy. In 2022, the company rebranded its HR as ‘People Experience’ (PX) to better align with its people-first philosophy.

“People want to be part of a purpose-driven, progressive, high-performing company that prioritizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and overall well-being for its employees,” Davis wrote at the time.“And at Sony Music Entertainment, that’s exactly what we do.”

In 2024, Sony launched a ‘Global People Promise’ titled ‘Shape Next, Create Impact’. According to Davis, the GPP helped Sony improve the cultural experience for its staff and support its efforts to attract and retain top talent.
