Aon appoints Metat Sae-Jan to lead life and health reinsurance in Thailand

Aon has appointed Metat Sae-Jan as Head of Life and Health Reinsurance in Thailand, strengthening its leadership team as demand grows for capital management and risk advisory solutions in the country's insurance sector, according to media reports.

Based in Bangkok, Sae-Jan will support insurers in achieving their risk management and capital objectives through reinsurance solutions. His appointment comes as Thai life insurers navigate evolving regulatory requirements and increasing pressure to optimise capital and strengthen balance sheets.

Bringing insurer and advisory expertise

Sae-Jan joins Aon Reinsurance Solutions from Bangkok-based consultancy XEL Advisory, where he served as Partner for more than two years. 

Prior to that, he held senior roles at Prudential Life Assurance Thailand, FWD Insurance Thailand, AIA Thailand and AIA Group in Hong Kong, building nearly 15 years of experience across the life insurance industry.

At Prudential Thailand, he served as Head of Product Strategy, leading partnership acquisitions and helping drive a 50% increase in protection product sales. Earlier in his career, he worked in actuarial, economic capital, financial planning and product strategy roles at AIA.

According to his LinkedIn profile, in his new role at Aon he will help insurers make better decisions on risk management and capital objectives through tailored reinsurance solutions.

Aon expands Thailand capabilities

The appointment is the latest in a series of leadership hires by Aon Reinsurance Solutions in Thailand this year.

As insurers face growing pressure to improve capital efficiency and manage long-term liabilities, reinsurance is playing an increasingly important role in helping companies strengthen their balance sheets while meeting evolving regulatory expectations.
