Rapid Bus names Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki as CEO to lead next phase of growth

In his new role, Syahrul will oversee efforts to improve operational excellence, strengthen customer service, build workforce capability and deliver more dependable bus services.
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd has named Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 July, as the company looks to strengthen its public transport operations and advance its transformation agenda, according to media reports.
His appointment comes as Rapid Bus accelerates initiatives to improve service quality, expand its fleet of electric buses and enhance the commuting experience for passengers using the Rapid KL and Rapid Penang networks.
Seasoned leader
Syahrul joins the role with more than 27 years of experience across the logistics, supply chain and transportation industries.
Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Aramex Malaysia, RUAG Aviation Malaysia, Kerry Logistics, OBYU Holding and Kontena Nasional Bhd.
He brings expertise in operational leadership, asset management, corporate strategy and business transformation, having led initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and organisational performance.
Focus on transformation
Rapid Bus Chairman Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said, "Syahrul's extensive experience in leading large-scale operations and driving organisational transformation will further strengthen Rapid Bus' efforts to improve service reliability, enhance customer experience, and accelerate the company's digitalisation and sustainability agenda.”
He added, "We are confident he will lead Rapid Bus to greater heights in meeting the needs of commuters while supporting the nation's public transportation aspirations.”
