Thomson Medical appoints Cassandra Loh as Singapore CEO

Thomson Medical Group has appointed Cassandra Loh as acting Chief Executive Officer of its Singapore operations, effective 1 July, as the healthcare provider prepares for its next phase of growth and transformation.

Loh currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer of Thomson Medical Singapore and will continue in that role while taking on the additional leadership responsibilities, according to multiple media reports.

She succeeds Lee Suen Ming, who is stepping down after nearly three years at the helm.

Growth agenda

The appointment comes as Thomson Medical Singapore enters what the group describes as the next stage of its transformation journey, building on initiatives launched in 2022.

Melvin Heng, Group CEO, Thomson Medical Group, thanked Lee for his contributions and said Loh’s appointment would help drive the organisation's next chapter of growth.

Industry experience

Loh brings extensive healthcare leadership experience to the role.

Before joining Thomson Medical, she held senior positions at Intellect, Cigna Singapore and IHH Healthcare. Her background spans strategic partnerships, corporate health solutions, hospital operations and market expansion.

In a statement, Loh said she will work closely with teams and partners to strengthen execution and support the organisation’s evolving healthcare ambitions.

“I will work with teams and partners to strengthen execution and continue expanding services around patient and family healthcare needs.”

Expanding services

Thomson Medical’s Singapore operations include the 187-bed Thomson Medical Centre and a network of nearly 40 specialist clinics and healthcare facilities.

While the group remains focused on women’s and children’s health, it is also broadening its specialist offerings. Key growth areas include orthopaedics, oncology, ear, nose and throat (ENT) services, and general surgery.

With Loh taking the reins, Thomson Medical is positioning itself to build on its transformation efforts and expand its reach across Singapore’s healthcare landscape.
