Aditi Mahadevan Nair exits Barclays after four years as APAC HR chief

Nair joined Barclays in 2022 after a 17-year career at Citi, where she held several senior HR leadership roles, including CHRO for India and South Asia and APAC Head of Talent, Learning and Diversity.
Aditi Mahadevan Nair has stepped down from her role as Managing Director and Head of Human Resources for Asia Pacific at Barclays, bringing to a close a four-year tenure with the global banking institution.
Announcing her departure in a LinkedIn post, Nair reflected on her time at the bank and expressed gratitude to colleagues and leaders who supported her throughout her journey.
“A memorable journey comes to an end as I close my last week with Barclays,” she wrote. “After 4 unforgettable years, it’s time for me to turn the page on this chapter to write another one.”
She added, “As I reflect on my journey, I will always remember the remarkable colleagues who quickly became friends, leaders and sponsors who trusted, challenged and supported me and opportunities that stretched me far beyond my comfort zone.”
Nair also thanked her colleagues across the organisation, saying, “To everyone I’ve had the privilege to work with in Barclays across the region and globally: thank you. For your partnership, candid conversations and friendships.”
While she has not disclosed details of her next role, she hinted at a new chapter ahead, concluding her message with, “Here’s to new beginnings – watch this space!”
Before joining Barclays in 2022, Nair spent more than 17 years at Citi, where she held several senior human resources leadership positions across India and the Asia-Pacific region. Her most recent roles at the bank included Chief Human Resources Officer for India and South Asia and APAC Head of Talent, Learning and Diversity.
Over the course of her career, she also served as APAC HR Head for Markets and Securities Services, Senior HR Generalist for Technology and Operations in Singapore, and held leadership positions in rewards, benefits, talent management and employee engagement.
Prior to Citi, Nair worked with Bharti Airtel, where she contributed to management development, performance management and organisational capability-building initiatives.
An alumna of Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Nair holds an MBA in Human Resources and Finance and has built a career spanning more than two decades in talent management, organisational development, diversity and inclusion, and strategic HR leadership across the banking and telecommunications sectors.
