Nestlé to create over 500 jobs with $685 million coffee factory in Thailand

This is expected to create opportunities across the agricultural and supplier ecosystem in addition to the factory's direct employment.
Nestlé is investing $685 million in a new coffee manufacturing facility in Thailand, which is expected to create more than 500 jobs when operations begin in late 2028.
According to a report by Khaosod, the company has broken ground on the facility, named House of NESCAFÉ Thailand, at the Araya Industrial Estate in Samut Prakan province.
The investment is expected to support local employment, strengthen domestic supply chains and generate demand for locally sourced agricultural ingredients.
New factory to boost local employment
The facility will manufacture soluble coffee, coffee mixes and ready-to-drink coffee beverages, alongside a distribution centre and a Coffee Innovation Center.
It will use artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and automated production systems to improve manufacturing and logistics operations.
Nestlé said the project would also support Thai farmers and suppliers through the annual procurement of ingredients and raw materials worth more than U$100 million, including coffee beans, sugar and fresh milk.
This is expected to create opportunities across the agricultural and supplier ecosystem in addition to the factory's direct employment.
Investment strengthens Thailand's coffee sector
Remy Ejel, executive vice president and chief executive officer of Nestlé's Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa said, “Thailand was one of the company's largest coffee markets and that the investment would help meet rising consumer demand while expanding production capacity in Southeast Asia.”
Nikhil Chand, chairman and chief executive officer of Nestlé Indochina said, “The project would create long-term value for Thailand's economy and society through employment and support for local agricultural producers and suppliers.”
Nestlé has sourced Thai Robusta coffee beans for more than 40 years and has supported farmers through agricultural training, the distribution of coffee seedlings and programmes promoting regenerative agriculture.
The project has received investment support from Thailand's Board of Investment and aligns with the country's Bio-Circular Green economy ambitions. Construction is under way, with the factory scheduled to begin operations in the latter part of 2028.
